Monterosso al Mare

Monterosso al Mare

Monterosso has the best beaches of the Cinque Terre villages and the most wine shops, artisan shops, hotels and restaurants. The village is divided into two parts from San Cristoforo hill and the old part of the village, protected by a rock spur, still presents the maritime village. We suggest you visit the church of Capuchin Father, from which you can admire a wonderful panorama of the village. The church has a painting of the Cambiaso and a "Crucifixion" attributed to Van Dyck. Monterossa is a great place to start your Cinque Terre experience because both the train and the boat both leave from this village. As Tom and the girls swam Uncle Tony,Aunt Maryanne and I checked out the town and had some lunch - focaccia with a glass of wine. Then we all sailed from Monterossa to the rest of the islands and then returned back to have dinner and pick up the train back to La Spezia.

I hiked amongst the basil and lemon orchards - It smelled so amazing and was better than any candle scent you could imagine.
